More capable than a pure endurance bike, and more composed than most XC race-rigs, the Highball has evolved to be easier to ride harder for longer. Santa Cruz fine-tuned the carbon layup process around the seat stays, giving it a bridgeless design that curbs trail chatter. Coupled with a 27.2mm diameter seat post, the whole package takes the “hard” out of hardtail riding. A Fox Step Cast 32 fork features a lightened chassis with all the stiffness you expect for confident handling through chunky sections of trail and guides your choice of wheelsets: Race Face AR rims paired to DT 350 hubs or Santa Cruz Reserve 25 Carbon. Both are shod with Maxxis Aspen tires for predictable traction and low rolling resistance. An SBC XC Carbon Flat bar, Syntace LiteForce stem, and Syntace P6 Carbon HiFlex seatpost topped with a WTB Silverado Team saddle finish this race-ready cross-country rig.
