Product Description
Zero Gravity (now Ciamillo) has long been known for it's production of ultra light braking systems. The original Zero Gravity brake, now called the Zero G, was and is extremely light and exquisitely machined. They stopped well enough, but Ciamillo wasn't content, so the Negative G was created. This brake featured much burlier arms and thus eliminated any flex and increased braking power. Now the best of both worlds is here. The Zero Gravity/Ciamillo Negative GSL brakes stop on a dime but weigh a mere 205 grams for the entire front and rear set! Ciamillo did this by taking they're popular Negative G brake and machining away all material that wasn't absolutely necessary for the stopping performance of the brake.
Negative GSL's look like single pivot brakes, but like all Zero Gravity brakes, they feature a cam that increases stopping power by threefold through the stroke of the brake. Instead of a linear rate for the braking power like all other dual pivot brakes, Ciamillo brakes have a progressive rate, thus the harder you pull, the more the power ramps up. This is crucial to the Negative GSL's excellent modulation.
Ciamillo brakes are the lightest on the market and offer power that is very comparable to brakes made by the big three. Unless you ride in the Alps every day, you'll never notice the difference and you'll appreciate the extra 100 grams you saved on those climbs. Ciamillo Negative GSL brakes come with Kool Stop brake pads and are made here in the USA.
