Van Cleve's "Nikola" bib shorts draw on the brand's turn-of-the-century style and pays homage to inventor Nikola Tesla. The eccentric inventor was known to be snappy dresser and could often be found in swanky night clubs hobnobbing with investors. The Nikola's faux herringbone weave looks like a dead ringer for a fine wool fabric that Tesla would have chosen to have a suit made from. Yet, the material is a high-end Lycra used in many of the best bibs available in the market today. The chamois is top notch too and consists of three layers of varying density perforated foam wrapped in a wicking polyester for all day comfort and a tuned fit.
The whole Nikola kit exudes understated class while looking perfectly at home on any race course. Gone are the days when riders going for the pro look were stuck with few riding kit options leaving you looking like a rolling billboard or a super hero. If Tesla were around today we think he would have rocked this kit while riding his Di2 bike.
