SIDI shoes have long been known for their bedroom slipper-like comfort and Italian style. The uppers on the Genius are a magic material known as Lorica, which feels soft and broken-in straight out of the box.
The Genius 5 Pro Carbon's have taken the place of the Genius 5.5's, with the main upgrade being the new Millennium 3 sole. The Millennium 3 is nylon, like the old Millennium 2 sole, but it's injected with carbon fiber to increase stiffness by 37%, increase durability, and reduce loss of rigidity over time. There's a new replaceable heel pad which snaps into place and uses a screw to keep it securely attached to the sole. One final improvement is the inclusion of a fourth threaded hole for compatibility with the Look Memory Cleat.
Everything you loved about the Genius 5.5 shoes are still here. SIDI's Ultra SL ratcheting buckle provides easy adjustment of the soft instep strap, and keeps it securely locked where you want it. The buckle is easy to use; pull up on the larger black lever to tighten, and simultaneously push the two red tabs down into the shoe to release. Two more velcro instep straps can be adjusted to provide the perfect combination of comfort and efficiency. each velcro strap uses SIDI's High Security Velcro System to eliminate the straps creeping open. SIDI likes to point out the fact that when pro riders get to choose the brand of cycling shoes they use, more professional cyclists choose Sidi than all other brands combined.
