From Paris Nice to the Tour de France, everything in between and after, Mavic Ksyrium wheels have been on the podium more than any other wheel since their introduction in 2001.
The Ksyrium SL wheelset has remained almost unchanged since its 2002 weight saving ISM (Inter-Spoke Milling) redesign. The only change to the Ksyrium SL is a carbon front hub shell. But don't let that fool you into thinking these wheels are old news. Rather, Ksyrium SLs have set the standard for pre-built, light, and virtually bomb proof clinchers. The Mavic Isopulse rear hub lacing is reverse of what you would think makes great power transfer in a rear wheel, but the proof is in the pudding. Ksyrium SLs are incredibly stiff and the power transfer is second to none. The 25mm and 22mm rim heights, rear and front respectively, coupled with the huge, straight pull, bladed spokes account for most of this wheelset's stiffness. The rest is attributed to the hole-less outer rim wall, which also eliminates the need for rim strips, further saving weight when your tires and tubes are added. If you want the wheels that set the standard for performance and dureability, you want the Mavic Ksyrium SL.
