Light and Motion's Seca 1400 is their flagship light for 2012. 1400 lumens may not sound like a lot this year (which is kind of ridiculous), but as L & M has always stressed, the quality of the light is just as important as the raw output. Plus, you get those 1400 lumens from when you turn the light on until you turn it off, unlike most superlights which can blind dinosaurs when ignited, but quickly fade down to an output far below their claims.

Six Cree bulbs have their light amplified and shaped by Light and Motion's painstakingly designed custom reflector. Seca reflectors (on the 800 as well) light the trail deep and wide, providing more than enough light to keep your focus where it should be—down the trail—while letting your peripheral vision remain effective for last second corrections and for seeing around turns. An aluminum/composite housing keeps the weight of the Seca 1400 one of the lightest in it's class, and far lighter than it's biggest American competitor. 2010/2011 saw a redesign of the Seca's integrated mount to make give the light head a very low profile when mounted on handlebars or helmet, and it has carried over to 2012.
