The Alveo 3k Shorts are built for hot weather thanks to the extremely well-ventilated fabric and chamois. Alveo 3K fabric looks like mesh, but stretches to offer freedom of movement. It also rebounds to its original shape, making it a durable short that won't stretch out or sag.

The Airzone Chamois is the most ventilated insert made by Louis Garneau. A seamless construction maximizes comfort while an anti-bacterial solution combats the effects of retained moisture, which can increase the growth of bacteria. High-density perforated memory foam conforms ergonomically with the body.

Three words to sum up the Alveo 3K - Ventilation. Durability. Comfort.

Comments: This Alveo 3k is my new favorite short surpassing my Specialized $80 shorts. The material is light but high-quality and air flow is *seriously* impressive; the chamois is cool (did I mention air flow?) with sufficient padding; the inseam isn't too long or too short, either. Material is stretchy but holds its shape and goes through a washer fine (wash inside out and hang to dry). Plus it's just a great-looking short. Logos are tastefully unobtrusive. No hangnail seams or threads, either. Nice and comfortable for 70+ miles at a go. I have a latex allergy that some shorts trigger, but not these. Cool. There's also a drawstring but I don't use it. There are no grippers but the material is cut and sewn well so they stay in place without constricting blood flow.

These do run a little big, I'm 6'1 with a 33 waist/32+ inseam and a Medium fits me perfectly with enough room for what's inside. Large was way too large. I wasn't sure about the high rear waistband but after a few hundred miles I see the light...I'm long-waisted (as such my jerseys are sometimes a little short) and the higher back offers protection in case of a spill plus it keeps my shorts from riding down too far...much as I'd like to moon some drivers, I don't need to be doing it involuntarily! I'd love to buy another pair or two especially at Art's great pricing, but Art's appears to be out of my size.  I hope they get some more in! Yo, Art, make it happen!
