Garmin's premium Edge 800 computer bridges the gap between the popular Edge 500 and the previously-revolutionary Edge 700 series computers.

Midway between the 500 and 700 in size, it's leaps and bounds ahead of both technology-wise. A larger, touch-screen display shows up to ten pieces of information at once, and can be customized to show whatever you deem necessary. Beyond the wow-factor of touch-screen control, it's functionality is fantastic. A simple one-finger tap is all it takes to change screens or scroll through maps. Street and topo maps can be uploaded and viewed via Garmin's microSD card slot, or downloaded from Garmin's BirdsEye Satellite Imagery service. As you would expect from the leader in GPS technology, there are many ways to use the maps; follow turn-by-turn directions when riding a new route or searching for a chosen destination, race yourself or other cyclists on a course that you have created or downloaded, or simply just observe where you are and weigh your options at each turn. Thanks to the high-sensitivity GPS receiver and Hot Fix Satellite prediction, you will always know just where you are, even under forest canopy.

The Edge 800 will also display power output from ANT+ devices from Quarq, SRM, iBike, and Power Tap.

The Edge 800 Performance and Navigation Bundle comes with a few extra pieces as well. A comfortable and easy-to-use heart rate monitor, a highly accurate speed/cadence sensor, and a microSD card loaded with City Navigator.
