Enabling cycling to occupy an even bigger part of your life than before is the Garmin Edge 510 cycling computer. Pair it up with your smart phone (compatible with Android or Apple), and real-time features like live tracking, weather conditions, and wireless data transfers are possible with the Garmin Edge 510. Cycling metrics are available as well, including speed, cadence (optional on the 510, included on the 510 Performance bundle), power (when paired with an ANT+ power meter), current elevation, ascent/descent, and grade. With a firmware update, Edge 510 users will enjoy real-time competition with Garmin Connect segments. Viewing fields are customizable and can be changed with a swipe of your finger on the 510's touch-screen interface.

If you run Shimano Di2 componentry, the Edge 510 can show your gear selection if synced to the Shimano D Fly EW001 wireless unit. When connected to your Bluetooth Smart-enabled phone, real-time segment alerts pop-up to let you know when you have started and finished Garmin Connect ride segments.

When used with Garmin Vector power meter pedals, the Edge 510 shows your cycling dynamics. This detailed breakdown of power metrics has the potential to transform your training. Current Edge 510 owners should update their firmware to take advantage of this feature.

Compared to the Garmin Edge 810, the 510 boasts 20% faster satellite location as it pulls from both GPS and GLONASS satellites, but does not have street-level mapping or the ability to load maps. Like the Edge 1000 and Edge 810, the Edge 510 is remote-compatible.
