Fizik R1 Shoe Black

The Fizik R1 has the simple look of a retro, Italian-inspired racing slipper. But closer inspection reveals a beautifully designed performance-packed shoe made for serious cyclists who appreciate fine handmade Italian craftsmanship. This is Fizik's high-end shoe and features several upgrades over the R3, most notably the heat-moldable insole.

Fizik designed the R1 with the concept of using the best materials in the correct application. The upper is made of durable Kangaroo leather, which provides a supple fit with unmatched comfort. Perforations on top of the toe box and on the medial side of the shoe along with a ventilated tongue keep the shoe breathable.

The straps are made of sail cloth, an incredibly strong, durable material that is water resistant. The upper strap that connects to the R1 buckle is adjustable, allowing this shoe to fit a wider range of feet. The Carbon Fiber buckle is light, strong and totally unique.

The insole is heat moldable so you can achieve a custom fit. You'll need a Fizik shoe oven to do this, but the shoe still has a refined fit even when the insole is not molded. Low rebound memory foam absorbs road vibrations and conforms to your foot. 

The full carbon outsole is stiffest at the base while a carbon heel cup ensures maximum power transfer to the pedals. Fizik calls the heel cup a Mobius Rail, which is molded into the outsole of the shoe that flexes to fit a wide range of heel shapes and sizes. 

The R1 may not appeal to everyone. But discerning riders who have a love for cycling and it's italian heritage will appreciate the classic, unique look and technology of this shoe.
