If DMT's Radial and Evolution shoes hybridized themselves, the result would be the Speed. The seamless interior comes from the Radial, and actually ups the ante with one-piece construction for light-weight, strength and comfort. Eliminating the cumbersome upper ratcheting buckle is a trick also seen on the Radial. As you probably know, many ProTour racers opt for an all-velcro straps configuration on their footwear, which saves weight compared to two velcro straps and a ratcheting buckle. The easy adjustment and worry-free hold of a ratcheting buckle isn't easily reproduced, however, but for some riders the weight and price savings of the Speed makes the trade-off worth it. Passed down by the Evolution is the FGC Concept sole (FGC stands for for Fiberglass/Carbon, which indicates that the sole is made from a fiberglass and chopped- carbon fiber composite) creates an affordable, light, rigid sole that isn't nerve-damagingly stiff.
