With the release of the redesigned 2014 Specialized Enduro Comp 29, the battle between 29 and 26-inch wheels has never been more cutthroat. Think for a second about why a 26-inch bike offers such an amazing ride. The smaller wheelbase, smaller wheels, and longer travel all contribute to a ride that is much nimbler and much more fun than a 29er could ever be... right? Well you would be, if Specialized didn't pull out all the stops with the newest Enduro 29er.
Not only did Specialized cram 155mm of travel into the redesigned aluminum frame but they managed to do so with a chainstay length that is only 11mm longer than the 26-inch Enduro. With the use of a "taco-blade" to reposition the front derailleur, a u-shaped seat stay brace and a curved seat tube, Specialized has created the most nimble long-travel 29er currently on the market. The Fox Float CTD rear shock and Rockshox Pike 29 with 160mm of travel, make this 29er and absolute monster when it comes to the descents and an apt mountain climber as well.
If you want the bike that makes even the most diehard 26-inch riders think twice, look no further than the 2014 Specialized Enduro Comp 29er.
